You've heard of them everywhere, but what exactly are they? Blogs have an endless number of purposes. Essentially, blogs are collections of personal pieces of writing or entries and can be used as a public journal, or to share thoughts, rants, and ideas. They're a great way to spark discussions on everything from current events, entertainment, or gossip, to what you had for dinner last night. So pick a topic, any topic, and start blogging!
To get started on your first of many blog entries, select ''My Blog'' from the menu at the top right of your screen. Then, click ''Compose New'' from the menu on the left. Next come up with a catchy title and start writing. Once you're happy with what you have, hit ''Publish'', then sit back and wait for the literary praise to start pouring in.
You can give a name to your blog section by clicking on the ''Edit'' icon right under your Blog Name. Using the same In Place Editor used to edit your profile, just click and type. You can also give names to the individual entries within your blog.
RSS stands for ''Rich Site Summary'' or ''Really Simple Syndication''. ''RSS feeds'' are summaries of new information from a site (like blogs or articles), along with links to the complete versions of whatever has been summarized. Subscribing to an RSS feed will have current, customized information sent directly to you. For Kisscafe, this means that you'll receive summaries of new blogs or articles, updates on new users or members in your area, along with links to complete versions of that information, without having to search for updated information yourself. You'll save time and effort that you can use to search for more profiles, write in your blog, or chat with all your new contacts.
You can find direct links to the RSS feeds that we offer on our site here.
In order to read your RSS feed subscriptions, you'll need an RSS reader such as Google Home, Yahoo Home, or MSN Live. These programs will translate the information from the feed into something your computer can understand, rather than displaying a mess of unreadable (XML based) text.
Your blog can be accessed through your profile. Visitors to your profile can click the blog icon that is next to your profile image. From there, they'll be sent to your blog page where they can find summaries of your entries and can start reading all about what has been on your mind.
People who have subscribed to your blog will have your newest entries sent to their accounts for quick access.
If you want to restrict who can read all about your ''eventful'' trip to Mexico, you have the option of setting chosen blog entries to ''private''. Once locked away, only those in your Favorites rated as ''private'' will have access to the entry you've set to private. Others will only be able to see the title and Tags. To get to the good stuff, they'll have to get through you.

You sure can. From the main page of your blog, find the ''edit'' button on the entry that you wish to edit. You can also open the article you want to change by selecting ''More'' or ''Read More'' to view the entire entry. Following the text there will be an option for you to ''Edit Post''. After clicking, you will be able to make whatever you had written even more perfect.
You are the master of your blog. If someone leaves a comment that you want to remove, select the ''more'' option of that entry, find the comment you want to delete, and select ''Remove Comment''.
Only you can attach Tags to your blog. These can be changed the same way that you edit your post.
Blog subscriptions are just like regular subscriptions. Once you have found a blog that you would like to have sent to you, click ''Subscribe to ______'s Blog'' found on the upper right corner of that person's blog. The blogs you have subscribed to are listed in your ''My Subscriptions'' section (located in the menu on the left, under Blogs: heading).
In the blog section of your homepage (also on the left hand side) you can find a pull-down selection option that will give you a list of Hot Blogs, or of the 5 most recent entries of the blogs you've subscribed to. Select the author's name from the pull down list to see the titles of their recent blog entries. Click on the title of the entry you want to read, or on the author's name to view summaries of their last 5 blog entries.
On the left side of your blog, below the main title and picture, you'll see a button labelled, ''Total Subscribers''. By selecting this you can see a complete list of the many adoring fans of your blog.
If you need to trim down on the volume coming into your subscription box, go to the ''My Subscriptions'' page (located in the menu on the left of your ''My Blog'' page) where you will find the options for unsubscribing from certain blogs.
Did you know that you could input videos into your next blog entry?
To add a video, begin composing your blog entry, and select the ''Movie'' button. Then, input the URL of the video from YouTube or Google Video.
To input the URL from Google Video, highlight the entire address from your browser (http://video.google.ca/videoplay....), then copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) it into the space provided on your blog composition page after clicking on the ''Movie'' button.
To input the URL from YouTube, you can select the URL from the address bar in the same way, or use the URL provided by YouTube. Copy and paste it into the space provided.
